It was a 70-plus page inspector’s report we were handed before we made an offer on our home. The previous owners had received and accepted an offer from someone else that bought it online. When they came and saw the house in person, they backed out two days before the closing date. The reason they gave was that the house was too small. Who knows?<\/p>\n

Many of you know I’m married to the man who trained MacGyver. He even has a t-shirt saying this very thing [thank’s Cindy]. He combed over the report, plus we had our own also done. There was nothing that showed up that he felt he couldn’t fix. And nothing significant was found. The house is almost 100 years old. We knew there would be a few issues. The report was thorough and included photos of each case.<\/p>\n

That last owners didn’t live here long, only two years. They owned several cats and a large dog. Nothing was done to the house besides some paint to the dining, guest room, and primary bath. The color they picked was painter’s tape blue! That has all been painted a natural white [for now anyway].<\/p>\n

Now the owners before the last owners well all our neighbors loved them. I’m sure they were great people! But Tony is positive his name was Micky Mouse. Starting with the plumbing and electrical, I’m sure he did his best. Hanging and installing cabinets and countertops, oh wait, should I say just setting them in place. They were never really installed. I figured this out when I climbed on them to put something up high, and everything moved, and the countertop shifted out of place. Tony walks around shaking his head and mumbling under his breath.
